Eylure Lash Trends Day Part 2

False lashes have been around for nearly one hundred years now and have come a very long way since the net and fur that was originally used. In the last few years false lashes have really come into their own and we are seeing a huge selection on the market which is very exciting.

Not only are we seeing lashes being used on the catwalks, by celebrities and in magazines but also by women in their teens and upwards. We have all embraced the fact that a set of false lashes can create real definition and add drama to your eyes. Easy application and even ready to wear lashes have made it so simple to pop some on then enjoy the rest of your day or even party the night away and totally forget they are even there!

So….to the first look. This is really beautiful; fresh, clear and dewy skin which every woman dreams of having. This is created using a sheer foundation and the minimum amount of powder, none if possible. The cheeks are highlighted with touch of cream blush which is applied onto the apples and blended up on to the cheek bones. This keeps the whole look more youthful. Rosebud lips are perfect yet not over powering and can be created using a stain or sheeny lipstick. The eyes have a subtle wash of colour in a very neutral tone on the eyelids and slightly underneath too but all the definition is in the lashes. Eylures naturalites in number 101 are ideal as they elongate, create lift and curl yet still look natural. You could also use the individual lashes from the center of your eyes and outwards to give a real flick at the ends.

This look was seen on the spring catwalks for Gucci and also recently on the beautiful Kate Bosworth who really suits this timeless look. It is perfect for this time of year.

The second make up is our Heritage look. This is one of my favourites as it is young and playful and so of the moment. With the fabulous Mad Men and also the 70’s trend we are seeing, this look is one that every lady should attempt at least once!

Again, skin is kept clean and natural with only the smallest amount of foundation to perfect your complexion rather than disguise your skin. The whole idea is that you look perfect without being done! Soft toned browns and peaches are used on the cheeks and lips are plumped with liner and nude coloured lipstick or gloss.

A touch of liner rings the eyes to create big baby doll blinkers and then choppy upper and lower lashes are used to really open up the eye and give this spikey 70‘s look. One of Eylure’s Upper & Lower Lash sets would be perfect. You have the ideal combo and balance of top and bottom in one packet! For this look black have been used but Eylure have a new range of lashes in brown so even ladies with red or very blonde hair can get in on the act and these too can be used with great effect to create this look. You can of course add mascara at the end if you want a more powerful look.

This trend was seen on Anna Sui’s catwalk at the fall shows and had added depth which was made by drawing a line just above the socket to give the illusion of more space on the eyelid. The ever playful Drew Barrymore is a fan of this era and with a bit of a beehive, she really looks the part.

You could also use a smooth and structured style, like Naturalites 107 or 140 as they would work very well and are relevant to the style of Mad Men.

The final look I am going to show you is ‘Well Framed and slightly messed up!’ This look can be varied greatly from strong dark eyes to red lips and thick, clumpy mascara. The one I have chosen to show you was seen on Roberto Cavalli’s fall show and has a modern twist on the classic dark smoky look.

Skin has a more matt and velvety feel this time and a slightly thicker, oil free foundation can be used to create that. Cheeks have barely any colour so just a wash of soft pink will be enough to give your complexion a little lift. Lips are subtle, all you need is a gentle pink, fairly matt lipstick to compliment your skin and balance the eyes.

Now, the modern twist on the classic smoke!…. Well, it still has a beautiful feline shape that wings out to the sides and lifts your eyes but to add an extra dimension, golds and coppers have been added in the inner corners and underneath along with lashings of black liner. Eyebrows have been kept pale so all the focus is on the eyes.

Adding the lashes to this already very dramatic look just really finishes it off and makes your eyes smolder. Eylure have their  wonderful double lashes which are two lashes on one band for easy application and added thickness and would be perfect for this look.

There are several celebrities who like this mysterious and edgy look such as Taylor Momsen and Kirsten Dunst.
